Hi, I’m Laura.
I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, passionate about supporting individuals to begin or continue their journey of self-discovery, reconnection, and healing.
I work with people who feel disconnected from themselves, emotionally overwhelmed, or unsure of who they are.
I bring decades of experience working with both young people and adults, supporting individuals through a wide range of emotional and relational difficulties.
Areas I Work With;
I have particular experience supporting people with:
-
Anxiety and depression
-
Relationship difficulties
-
Parental and family issues
-
Loss of self and identity concerns
-
Life transitions and periods of change
-
Trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
-
Adoption, fostering, and lived experience of local authority care
My Approach;
My philosophy is simple, yet deeply effective: by talking and feeling, we heal.
While this may sound straightforward, many people find it challenging to slow down, connect with their emotions, and explore what lies beneath the surface. This is where my role and expertise come in.
I will gently guide and support you to safely explore your inner world, including conscious and subconscious beliefs, thoughts, and feelings and how these shape your behaviours, relationships, and experience of the world around you.
Together, we will identify and make sense of unresolved issues, creating space for understanding, integration, and change. This process can help you develop deeper self-awareness, confidence, self-worth, clarity, and focus.
Working Together;
I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you can pause, take a breath, and feel heard, seen, and supported.
You will have my full attention, respect, care, and transparency throughout our work together. Therapy with me is collaborative and paced according to your needs. You will always guide the pace, and we will work safely and compassionately.
Over time, these connections can feel enlightening and freeing, allowing you to move forward with greater ease and intention in your life and relationships.
My Story
I am a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am also a qualified social worker, registered with Social Work England (SWE). I am DBS checked and registered with the DBS update service.
I bring over twenty years of experience working with children, young people, and families, including within child protection, court proceedings, fostering, and adoption. This work exposed me to a wide range of complex and deeply human experiences, including both “big T” and “little t” trauma, and the lasting impact trauma can have on individuals, their relationships, and the wider community.
Throughout my career, I have worked across local authorities, charities, and private organisations. I am deeply grateful for these experiences, which have shaped my understanding and strengthened my practice. They have provided invaluable knowledge, insight, and skills that now inform my work as a psychotherapist.
In 2015, I was fortunate enough to take a career break, which offered me the space to reflect on my professional path and personal journey. During this time, my purpose became clearer: to support others in self-discovery, reconnection, healing, and hope.
In 2021, I put this clarity into action and retrained as a psychotherapist. This work is more than a profession to me, it is a passion and a way of being. I feel deeply privileged to do this work and to walk alongside people in their healing process.
My core training is person-centred, however my approach is integrative, drawing on a range of therapeutic theories, professional experience, and ongoing training and development. I work flexibly and tailor therapy to the unique needs of each individual client.
Through both professional and lived experience, I have come to believe that the most important element of therapy is the therapeutic relationship. One grounded in trust, safety, and genuine connection. When these foundations are in place, therapy has the potential to be truly transformational.

Getting in Touch
I understand how difficult it can be to reach out for support. Taking that first step takes courage.
If what you’ve read resonates with you and you’d like to explore things a little further, I invite you to book a free 15-minute consultation. This gives us the opportunity to talk briefly about what’s going on for you, ask any questions you may have, and see whether working together feels like the right fit.
If we both feel comfortable following our conversation, we can then arrange a first session.
I look forward to hearing from you.
If I’m unable to answer your call, please feel free to leave a voicemail, send a text, or email me, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
